Seeking Interviews with Artists Promoting Dark Work!
ATTENTION AUTHORS, FILMMAKERS, AND OTHER ARTISTS!
If you work with horror, the supernatural, the surreal, dark fantasy, dark sci-fi, or adjacent genres or themes in prose fiction, poetry, film, or other media, I probably want to host you for an interview!
INTERVIEW? I mean a written, asynchronous interview, not a live discussion. Send me (publishable) descriptions of the one to three work(s) you want to focus on, along with a brief bio, and I’ll send you 5-10 questions that I’ve attempted to tailor to you and your work. You write your answers, I try to make everything pretty, and I post. The goal is to promote you and to find angles of interest a little sharper than typical blurbs or interviews that rely on boilerplate questions.
As for responses, I don’t intend to interfere with style or content, but I will edit for grammar, etc. if errors seem unintentional. I will also edit for length if necessary. Except in rare cases, I won’t seek interviewee approval for my edits in advance, but interviewees are always welcome to recommend changes after publication (the process is fluid). R-rated language is fine, but I reserve the right to reject an interview response for targeting individuals or groups with hate speech. Otherwise, I want to accept all I can.
I do not pay. I do not charge. This site does not sell ads or otherwise generate income. I do provide sales links; if you’re a guest, I’ll link your works to Amazon unless I can’t or you tell me to do otherwise. My goal is to make connections and share a promotional space that I’ve invested in and don’t want to underuse. Also, it’s often a way to figure out what I should read or watch next, and it’s an informal research project that could inform a nonfiction book… I find myself learning things about which academics and mainstream readers have no clue.
If you’re interested in an interview, email me at [email protected] or use this site’s contact form. I hope to hear from you!
